My Guatemala trips/charters are a little different than most
trips/charters people take. I like to take anglers who have a desire to
learn billfishing techniques that work anywhere. I have always had a
passion for catching big fish on small boats. In Guatemala, the climate
is always perfect when I go from January to April. It is also rare for
the wind to be a factor. We fish circle hooks for large pacific sails. A
normal day would be 10 to 25 shots for you to catch a big one. I also
encourage hands on fishing, not mandatory, and even try to teach proper
rigging and wiring/handling of billfish. I usually fish 4 lines and two
teasers, but change up from time to time. The short line is 15' behind
the boat, and the long line is only 35' back. I would rather feed the
bait and hook one sail right behind the boat, than catch 100 sails 300
yards back. I have fished in Guatemala since 1997 for sails, also we
have caught blue marlin, lots of dolphin, some beautiful roosterfish,
huge Spanish mackerel, wahoo, and now starting to play around with the
bottom fish. I have a great friend who lives in Guatemala and has a
Panga at the same marina. Marina Pez Vela in Puerto Quetzal. It makes
for a great time to have 3 to 4 people and the captain on each boat, let
the competition begin!
"I cannot express in words what a great
time I had in Guatemala. All I can say is wow! I do not think I will
look at fishing the same ever again. Thank you for giving me the
opportunity to fish with the pros. I am looking forward to fishing with
you some more this year. I am ready."

"Enclosed
you will find the DVD of our glorious trip (and a check)! I inserted
some credits to both you and Tom. If there is anything else you'd like
for me to do, let me know. I had a wonderful time. Brad and I are still
giggling about it! I could have never imagined a fishing trip like
that."

"I
have fished up and down the eastern seaboard, but never experienced
anything like this. 80-120 pound pacific sailfish right beside the boat.
Feed them the bait and...Hold on!! Great experience, great
accommodations, great captain. Treat yourself. I'll be back again next
year for my third visit!!!
