Guatemala Trips

Catch Pacific Sailfish and More

Pelagic Sportfishing Guatemala charters are a little different than most trips people take. Captain Mike likes to take anglers who have a desire to learn billfishing techniques that work anywhere. Captain Mike Webb has always had a passion for catching big fish on small boats.

In Guatemala, the climate is always perfect from February through March. It is also rare for the wind to be a factor. We fish circle hooks for large Pacific Sailfish. A normal day would be 10 to 25 shots for you to catch a big one. Captain Mike also encourages hands-on fishing, not mandatory, and even tries to teach proper rigging and wiring/handling of billfish.

Captain Mike normally just fishes two to four baits and two to three teasers in the water. Teasers are only 20 to 30 feet behind the boat! He loves to throw out a pitch bait to a teaser bite right behind the boat! So exciting!

Captain Mike has fished Guatemala for Saifish since 1997. You can also expect to catch some Blue Marlin, Mahi and a few Roosterfish. We are located at Marina Pez Vela in Puerto Quetzal. It makes for a great time to have three to four people on the Sea Angel with Just Captain Mike, no mate!

What People Are Saying

“I cannot express in words what a great time I had in Guatemala. All I can say is wow! I do not think I will look at fishing the same ever again. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fish with the pros. I am looking forward to fishing with you some more this year. I am ready.”

- B. Sutton

“Enclosed you will find the DVD of our glorious trip (and a check)! I inserted some credits to both you and Tom. If there is anything else you’d like for me to do, let me know. I had a wonderful time. Brad and I are still giggling about it! I could have never imagined a fishing trip like that.”

- H. Furniss

“I have fished up and down the eastern seaboard, but never experienced anything like this. 80-120 pound pacific sailfish right beside the boat. Feed them the bait and ... Hold on!! Great experience, great accommodations, great captain. Treat yourself. I’ll be back again next year for my third visit!!!”
